The port of Rio in Patra, in the Peloponnese, where I am about to board the ferry boat to cross the Gulf of Patras. The ferry boat ride offers fantastic views of the Rio-antirrio bridge as we will see in my next post.

My third batch of photographs from the beautiful Saroninc island of Hydra. And island that is located in Greece’s Aegean sea and Argolic gulf.
The only mode of transportation are mules, donkeys and horses instead of cars. Cars and motorcylces are not permitted by law. Making it a very quiet and serene place. It is also an eco-friendly island with recycling bins everywhere.
Hydra is an island well-fortified as we can see from the many canons at the entrance of the port.. The inhabitants had to battles against pirates, and the Ottomans. The citizens suffered various plagues and famines.
A few notable people that have visited the island is Sofia Loren when she filmed ‘Boy on a Dolphin’ released in 1957, and Leonard Cohen who owned a home on the island.

The second batch of photographs of the magical island of Hydra featuring the beaches and shops.
Hydra may not have the best beaches like Skiathos and other places in Greece, but the one that I photographed was very beautiful and even though it was full of rocks I enjoyed my swim there.
The shops are very nice, but they are pricey. As it is a cosmopolitan island the food and merchandise can be more expensive than other places in Greece.

Hydra island is a majestic island on of the saronic islands in the Aegean sea. The island got it’s name from the natural springs on the islands as ‘hydra’ in Greek is another word for water.
It is considered a cosmopolitan island, and as soon as our ship came close to the harbour, I could see why. It is a very aristocratic looking island due to the classic architecutal style of the homes on the island.
There were many things to see and do and very little time as it was only a day trip. My camera was very happy though as you can see I had to divide the post in 3 parts.
It was French Queen Marie Antoinette who was rumored to have famously said ‘let them eat cake!’ Now the modern elites are telling the common folk to eat bugs!
I was disgusted when, I heard in the news, that the U.N and European commission recommends that people eat crickets, worms and locusts!
Little critters that will surely fill you up (yeah right!) instead of bread, meat and vegetables. Not even a vegan diet will suffice!
The two excuses being the war in Ukraine and our doomed environment.
Because Russia, in response to the sanctions, has banned “unfriendly states” from exporting fertilizers, which has resulted in a reduction in the production of vegetables, cereals, etc., but also banning the export of cereals, which has resulted in a reduction in animal feed. And the other excuse being the environment. We eat too much meat. Animals need a lot of food to be fed. etc.
Not even during the second world war where millions died from the famine, did any government recommend this type of diet seen mostly Asian cultures.
This had me asking myself a few questions. Are these elites are trying to make us westerners more like the Asians? Are they that desperate? Have they ‘lost their marbles’?
The answers: ‘Yes, yes and most definitely a yes!’
I Know that there will be people, who stupidly do what every authority figure or celebrity puppet tells them to do because they are like sheep and blind bats.
But, what they need to understand is that while they are eating their ‘delicious’ worm and locust salad and feeling guilt- free, as they believe that they are saving the environment, behind closed doors the elites in Brussels and elsewhere will be enjoying their steaks, caviar, cheese and wine!
Then again, if famine strikes and we are craving meat we could just eat the rich! The wealthy are well-fed, full of nutrients and a good source of protein!
Bon appétit!
