Everyone knows how expensive Mykonos can be. It has become a bit of a joke. It is most certainly not a place that most Greeks can afford to go to which is a bit shameful.
And, yes I have heard that a beach chair can cost you about a thousand euros. Crazy!
Όλοι ξέρουν πόσο ακριβή μπορεί να είναι η Μύκονος. Έχει γίνει λίγο αστείο. Σίγουρα δεν είναι ένα μέρος που οι περισσότεροι Έλληνες μπορούν να αντέξουν οικονομικά να πάνε, κάτι που είναι λίγο ντροπιαστικό
Και, ναι, έχω ακούσει ότι μια ξαπλώστρα μπορεί να σου κοστίσει περίπου χίλια ευρώ. Τρελά!

My third drawing in ‘The Age of Entitlement’ series.
There seems to be a trend in our modern times where people who come from affluent families claim to be ‘self-made’ when they become successful.
This claim is compeltey false and laughable for a few reasons. First, because the family plays a big role in a child’s development. Parents who are educated know how to guide their children in the right direction. They will introduce them to people who will assist them. Their education is paid for. The parents will fund their business. You can’t make money without having money first.
Second, it takes a group of people to help a buisness and person succeed. Success is a group effort. It is done through co-operations with others.
This false claim of being self-made is not surprising in this age of entitlement.
Φαίνεται να υπάρχει μια τάση στη σύγχρονη εποχή μας, όπου οι άνθρωποι που προέρχονται από εύπορες οικογένειες ισχυρίζονται ότι είναι «αυτοδημιούργητοι» όταν γίνονται επιτυχημένοι.
Αυτός ο ισχυρισμός είναι εντελώς ψευδής και γελοίος για ορισμένους λόγους. Πρώτον, γιατί η οικογένεια παίζει μεγάλο ρόλο στην ανάπτυξη του παιδιού. Οι γονείς που είναι μορφωμένοι ξέρουν πώς να καθοδηγούν τα παιδιά τους στη σωστή κατεύθυνση. Θα τους συστήσουν ανθρώπους που θα τους βοηθήσουν. Η εκπαίδευσή τους πληρώνεται. Οι γονείς θα χρηματοδοτήσουν την επιχείρησή τους. Δεν μπορείς να βγάλεις χρήματα χωρίς πρώτα να έχεις χρήματα.
Δεύτερον, χρειάζεται μια ομάδα ανθρώπων για να βοηθήσει μια επιχείρηση και ένα άτομο να πετύχει. Η επιτυχία είναι μια ομαδική προσπάθεια. Γίνεται μέσω συνεργασιών με άλλους.
Αυτός ο ψευδής ισχυρισμός ότι είσαι αυτοδημιούργητος δεν προκαλεί έκπληξη σε αυτήν την εποχή του προνομιούχων
My second drawing in the series ‘The age of entitlement’.
Here is the very priviledged ‘alpha male’ he is known to be the dominant male in the hierarchy. He is the successful and aggressive ‘go-getter’ type. Money, women and social status come easily to him. The toxic traits of this type of man can be arrogance, selfishness, insensitivity and he can be violent too.
Εδώ είναι το πολύ προνομιούχο «άλφα αρσενικό» που είναι γνωστό ότι είναι το κυρίαρχο αρσενικό στην ιεραρχία. Είναι ο επιτυχημένος και επιθετικός τύπος. Τα χρήματα, οι γυναίκες και η υψηλή κοινωνική θέση του έρχονται εύκολα. Τα τοξικά χαρακτηριστικά αυτού του τύπου ανθρώπου μπορεί να είναι η αλαζονεία, ο εγωισμός, η αναισθησία και μπορεί να είναι και βίαιος.
