The beautiful view of the town of Naupaktos from the Monastery of Sotirios. In the distance the Rio-antirio bridge can be seen.
It was a bit overcast that morning, which is unusual for the month of August here in Greece.

The Holy Monastery of Metamorphosis Sotiros is located on a hill overlooking the picturesque town of Naupaktos in the west of Greece. It is a relatively new monastery that was founded in 1977. The monastery is home to monks, one of which gave us a tour of the monastery. There is a huge conference room, a big library in the basement with books donated by the people, as well as ancient artifacts some replicated and others authentic. There is a beautiful courtyard with birds, and a fish pond and lots of green foliage. There is a smaller church on site called ‘Agios Spridon’. The monks are known for their philanthropic work and do not sell anything on the site aside from their locally made honey.
The views from the monastery are incredible. The whole town of Naupaktos can be seen from above as well as the Rio-antirio bridge.
The monastery celebrated its name day yesterday on the 6th of August.

It’s a dangeous world out there, especially for women and children. If the wild animals don’t get you, than the predatorial men will.
‘The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don’t do anything about it.’-Albert Einstein
This primate is completely delusional for attempting to save this town from the floods.
At least he tried..

Orange skies over Athens and most parts of Greece and Cyprus on Tuesday. This is probably the third wave of dust from the sahara desert to cover the skies of Greece over the past few weeks. It’s a very eerie sight, almost apocalyptic, like a scene from the futuristic film Blade runner.
It’s not a common phenomenon in Greece. This was the worst in years. The dust is toxic and terrible for the lungs, and for plants and trees. I only stepped outside for a couple of minutes to take photos and to capture the unique sky. Later on, I was coughing a lot. I have asthma and allergies so people like me are advised to stay indoors. You need to wear a mask if you have to go outside. The dust will slowly go away, but will linger a bit until this Friday.
F.Y.I WordPress has informed me that this is my 14th anniversary on wordpress.
WOW!! Time flies!
