Magical Garden/Μαγικος Κηπος

Yellow climbing roses

Jasmin vine growing on the trellis

Yellow Dahlia
The magnificent Purple Iris

Ranuculus and Pansies sharing a pot

Some pictures of my garden in the spring before the intense Greek heatwave stopped the garden from blooming. I started a little greenhouse, and it wan’t as successful as I expected it to be. Maybe if the month of June wasn’t so hot I would have had better results. :((

The Shadow Self

“Our dark sides are part of who we truly are. By uncovering and embracing our shadow side, we become whole.” -Debbie Ford

“I used to want to save the world. To end war and bring peace to mankind. But then, I glimpsed the darkness that lives within their light. I learned that inside every one of them, there will always be both.  The choice each must make for themselves – something no hero will ever defeat. I’ve touched the darkness that lives in between the light.

Seen the worst of this world, and the best.

Seen the terrible things men do to each other in the name of hatred, and the lengths they’ll go to for love.

Now I know. Only love can save this world. So I stay. I fight, and I give… for the world I know can be.

This is my mission, now. Forever.”– Diana Prince / Wonder Woman (2017)

Resilience/Ανθεκτικότητα

bwrose(1)

Strength to strength

Shore to shore

There is not a life in ruins

Or time wasted

We each carry our burdens

and our traumas

Whether our fate is assigned or

Whether we are the masters of  it

We must emulate the roses

That wither, but are resilient

And come alive again.

*I love the strength and resiliency of the roses in my garden. From intense heat waves and cold snaps they pull through. Some humans should need to get some lessons from nature.
