Hello! I'm a Artist/Writer/Photographer who lives in Athens, Greece. I have many creative ways from writing, photography, collage art, mixed-media art and poetry. I love sharing my work with people from all over the world through my blog.
A few photographs of the snow on the mountains of Attiki region of Greece. The snow from the unusual snow storm ‘Medea’ has all melted away, thank goodness.
What is this stuff??I don’t trust it. I’ll walk slowly.
Angelo may be as white as snow, but that doesn’t mean that he is a big fan of it. It took him a while to finally step in to the snow after I let him out. He was very shocked by it as he was not used to such a snowfall.
He prefers the summer. He loves the heat and sun bathing 🙂
A few photographs of my frozen plants in my garden. They got the shock of their plant lives when an unusual cold snap hit Athens. So strange, especially after an unseasonably warm week more than a week ago. I hope they survive this and heal from the trauma! 😉
When life gives you lemons you make some lemonade. Enjoy the bitterness! Ha!!Poor plants. Not used to this cold snap.
A historical and rare snow storm arrived in Greece this week. Such a snow fall is rare for Athens. I don’t recall seeing that much snow fall in the city in all the years that I have been living in Greece. The turbulent storm was named after the turbulent character of Medea in Ancient Greek Tragedy. A fitting name as three people lost their lives.
Due to the pandemic, most people were home and few people were out enjoying the snow-at least in my area. It was eerily quiet. A bit of a dystopian kind of vibe. But, the weather brought back memories of Toronto where I was raised. And of course I took a lot of photos 🙂
We had unseasonable warm weather in February, prompting the bees to come out and do their work. As usual I was ready with my camera. 🙂
The doomsday clock has changed once again. It’s 100 seconds closer to midnight. Time is running out. The earth is in a state of crisis. Deadly weather, earthquakes, a deadly virus, talk of a third world war etc. Things are getting tougher and there is no other planet to escape to. There is no other planet like ours. Our planet is not disposable. There is no planet B. No earth part 2. All of the problems that we are facing we have to facewhether we like it or not.
We are trapped in the hell that we have created, and with very little time left to reverse our actions.
‘Words of Encouragement’ mixed media art painting by Angela Zafiris
The key words in these challenging times. Last year I heard someone-I can’t remember who say these words when discussing the events in 2020 as well as future events. I wrote these words down in a journal and I thought that it would be a good idea to use the words in my artwork where I will be able to see it on a daily basis rather thαn in a note book.
