The lines have been drawn
The walls have been built
The enemy puffs at the gate
Forever lingering like a loyal dog
The bear, the shark, the snake, and black dog
All symbolize
The enemy, the foe, the rival
They Claw,
Gnash with their teeth,
Slither and howl
The tides of hate flow
Back and forth
And in a stormy black sea
A lonely boat with a white flag
Pleads for peace
But goes unheard
Just muffled cries in the dark
Who will win, who will lose
It won’t matter
It will never end.

A throw back to warmer days on this cold December day.

Καλό μήνα! (Kalo Mena) translates to ‘happy first day of the month’ as we like to say in Greece.
A different perspective of the Corinth canal bridge. Not sure why there are plastic bags there!
Μια διαφορετική προοπτική της γέφυρας του καναλιού της Κορίνθου. Δεν είμαι σίγουρη γιατί υπάρχουν πλαστικές σακούλες εκεί!

The month of November has long been the rainiest month in Greece. But, the rare ‘medicane’ (mediterranean + hurricane) that enveloped Greece this past Wednesday brought catastrophic flooding that took the lives of 21+ people, (many more have not been accounted for), and hundreds of people have been left homeless. This is the worst flooding Athens has seen in decades and it has left the country in a state of shock.
Global natural disasters are increasing by the day and whatever the cause, that fact is that we live in an unstable planet. Like our ancestors we have to adapt to the changes and continue to rebuild again. My sympathies and condolences to anyone who has lost someone to anyone who has lost a loved one the flooding, earthquakes and fires in recent times.

The ruins of the sanctuary of Hera Akraia Limenia, is located at a beautiful cove with a magestic view of the gulf of Corinth. ‘Akraia’ means ‘great height’ and ‘Limenia’ means ‘of the harbour’. Akraia was also the name of the naiad or water nymph associated with Hera. The site had an L shaped stoa, temple, hearth and sacred pool where visitors would cleanse themselves before entering the temple. There was a dining area that was exclusive to the wealthy. Sailors would stop by the harbour to come on the harbour to pray, give offerings and make sacrifices to the goddess for their safe travels.
