According to the Greek Orthodox calendar the 8th November is dedicated to the highest angels.  People who go by the following names: Michael, Gabriel and Angela are celebrating their name day today. In the Greek culture we have name days since each day is dedicated to a saint and most people are named after saints. Most Greeks are named Maria or George, so they have bigger parties on their name days. That’s fine, so my name day is smaller and less rowdy, but at least I am in the company of angels 😉
