“The greater the difficulty, the more glory in surmounting it. Skillful pilots gain their reputation from storms and tempests.”-Epictetus (Greek stoic philosopher)

God’s Promise/Η Υποσχεση του Θεου

After the floods God promises Noah and his family that..
“never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.”
The rainbow was his visible promise.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
October Storms/Καταιγιδες του Οκτωβριου

Stormy days are here Οι θυελλώδεις μέρες είναι εδώ
When will the foggy minds become clear? Πότε θα ξεκαθαρίσουν τα ομιχλώδη μυαλά;
So much information Τόσες πληροφορίες
All unclear Όλα ασαφή
Missiles point to the sky Τα Βλήματα στοχεύουν τον ουρανό
Division and chaos Διχασμός και χάος
Shortages of everything Ελλείψεις σε όλα
The Truth coming unveiled Η Αλήθεια που αποκαλύπτεται
The Great awakening begins.

I rarely use filters for my photographs. I don’t really like the end result. I find the natural hues more beautiful , however sometimes a filter can enhance a photograph and make it more appealing.

Yesterday we celebrated ‘Clean Monday’ in Greece. The tradition is that we eat fish and fly kites. It is the beginning of the severe fasting leading up to Easter Sunday in May.
Iris/Ίρις

After the storms come the sunshine and the rainbows. In this case a cool double rainbow.
Brighter days will soon come..
“Dare to love yourself
as if you were a rainbow
with gold at both ends.”
― Author-Poet Aberjhani, Journey through the Power of the Rainbow: Quotations from a Life Made Out of Poetry
After the Storm/Μετά την Καταιγίδα

It rained hard a few days ago, hail, cats and dogs! It’s very unusual for this time of year in Greece. I don’t mind the rain so much, just as long as there isn’t any severe flooding. But, since I get to capture this strange natural phenomena called a rainbow it’s all good 🙂
Iris the Rainbow
In ancient times, the rainbows was thought to link Heaven and Earth. In many ancient cultures, rainbows symbolized promises and they were signs or messages from above. In modern times, people have to work harder to make ends meet, as a result people lose focus from what is most important. People ignore the beauty of nature. Scientific explanations have ruined our imaginations. There seems to be an explanation for everything. But, try as some may there will always be a sense of mystery around us.
In Greek mythology, Iris was the Goddess of the rainbow, and she was the messenger for the Goddess Hera. Everything in nature mattered to the ancients. Nothing was ignored.
