“Birch Trees’ by Angela Zafiris
My first attempt at painting trees on a large canvas. I was inspired by a couple of videos that I saw on YouTube and thought I’d give it a try. Trees are fun to paint and I don’t think that you can mess up too badly.
It’s getting darker and colder, the perfect season for me to begin writing my new horror story. So many strange things happen in the fall, it can be a very inspiring time..
The National Garden is a beautiful green oasis next to the parliament building in Athens.

These poor trees
They don’t have a chance in the dry summer heat.
The fires come and rage on and on
I will take their picture to immortalize them
They will live forever.
It was a very sunny day in the countryside, and this tree was calling me to take a photograph.

Sunlight on The Trees
A few more photographs of the beautiful forest/ park of Parnitha. Parnitha is locate North of central Athens and it is one of only two places that are a refuge for the city folk who wish to take a break from the concrete and the noise. The mountain was almost devastated by a massive fire in the very hot summer of 2007. Fortunately, much of the forest was spared, thanks to the firefighters and volunteers who risked their lives for this precious place in Athens.
Μερικά ακόμα φωτογραφίες από το όμορφο πάρκο/ δάσος της Πάρνηθας. Η Πάρνηθα βρικεται Βόρεια του κέντρου της Αθήνας, και είναι ένα απο τα λιγα μέρη που αποτελούν καταφύγιο για τους Αθηναιους που επιθυμούν να κάνουν ένα διάλειμμα από το τσιμεντο και τον θόρυβο τις πολις. Το βουνό σχεδόν καταστράφηκεαπό μια μεγαλη πυρκαγιά στο πολύ ζεστό καλοκαίρι του 2007. Ευτυχώς, ένα μεγάλο μέρος του δάσους γλίτωσε χάρη στον πυροσβεστών και των εθελοντών που διακινδύνευσαν τη ζωή τους για αυτό το πολύτιμο μέρος στην Αθήνα.
