The image of the woman captivated me when I saw it in a magazine. She reminded me of myself just wandering through the fields in my mind, imagining. For my artwork I used tissue paper, acrylics a photo of a woman from a magazine and a photocopy of the photograph, and some stencilling.

The Bustling Monastiraki Square
There is always a lot of action at the busy downtown Athens square called Monastiraki. The many tourists and natives, street artists and vendors all congregate at this square. I took this photographs only three weeks ago and it is still as vibrant as it was in the summer time.

Stagnation At The Station/Στασιμότητα
Photographs of an old abandoned train in Greece.
“Iron rusts from disuse, stagnant water loses its purity, and in cold weather becomes frozen; even so does inaction sap the vigor of the mind.”
Beautiful Balconies/όμορφα μπαλκόνια
Photographs that I took of the beautiful Venetian and Neoclassical style buildings in the small town of Nafplio, Greece. Many of the buildings are getting a ‘facelift’ as you can see in the photographs, and it was nice to see some work being done on them, instead of letting the buildings fall into disrepair.

Small Town Shops/Ta mικρά καταστήματα της πόλης
Small towns like Nafplio have some of the prettiest store fronts that you’ll ever see. I loved the architecture of many of the buildings here, and there were so many things to shoot!
The last photograph that I took in September of a sunset on a beach in Greece. Now, the rainy winters of Greece have set in. I just read that online today that meteorologist predict that this year will be Europe’s’ coldest and longest winter in the last ten years. So I guess I’ll be looking at these photographs with heavy nostalgia from December through March 😦
